SUMMARY:Youth History Shoot
DESCRIPTION:Teaching youth to safely enjoy firearms is an American tradition\nYouth Shoot – Historical overview. \nThe purpose of the Youth Historical Shoot is to provide the historical significance of the various firearms one could expect to find between 1774 and 1865. \nThere will be a basic safety lecture on procedure to be expected during the shoot. The mechanics of the various firearms – flintlock\, percussion (cap-lock) and other firing ignition systems will be explained\, as will the following: \n\nInstruction/commands given by the instructors will be followed as given.\nThere will be ONE on ONE coach shooter on each shooting position/bench – no freehand shooting allowed.\nStudents may observe the loading process but will refrain from loading any firearm themselves. Subject to supervised instructions.\nMisfires will be handled by the instructor.\nHang fires are to be expected.\nProtective Eyewear and Hearing Protection are mandatory.\nObservers/photographers will always remain behind the SAFETY LOADING BENCH.\nNo calling out of names of shooters or disturbance of any other kind to distract their focus on the shooting/discharge of firearms will be permitted.\n\nAmerican Heritage Girls learning the history of ancient arms\nSince the purpose of the shoot is for historical reference and primarily for the EXPERIENCE of the youth – the established rules for formal or informal competition do not apply. The youth will simply take a seated position at a bench\, a charged firearm placed in the correct sitting position will be placed with the shooter. A sight picture having been found the trigger pulled and the firearm discharged. A cold line may be called for closer examination of unloaded firearms with questions and answers provided by the instructors. \nThe Talking Rock Black Powder Shooters

SUMMARY:Event: Monthly Meet - Steel at 50\, NMLRA 6 Bull at 25
DESCRIPTION:March 2023 Event\nWe will have our two shooting groups\, off hand and bench.  Goal is less walking as many of us have not recovered from the February shoot and not as much thinking or analyzing.  Just hit the bullseye shooter. \nOur safety brief start time will be 9:00AM as the weather is getting nicer and warmer.  Bring some water just in case it gets to warm.  We will get started shooting just a bit after the safety brief and any news updates for all and a goal to be complete in a couple three hours.\n\nSTEEL:\nWe are going to shoot steel at 50 yards\, 10 shots\, hit or miss.\nNMLRA 6 Bulls:\nWe will shoot 10 shots at the NMLRA 6 bull target at 25 yards.  Five bulls for scoring the other is the practice bull for warm up. \nNMLRA 6 bull target at 25 yards\nSteel Plates at 50 Yards (Not the actual steel but similar to these pictured)\nGuests are always welcome who just want to watch\, learn and meet folks.  Bring a chair and we got two picnic tables to sit at as well. \nParticipation Fee: If you are …\nMember of both TRBPS and PCSC: $5\nMember of TRBPS and not PCSC: $10\nMember of PCSC and not TRBPS: $15\nMember of neither: $20
