Monthly Meet – April 27th, 2024 – Open House Gathering of Friends & Family with Food

April 27 @ 8:30 am - 1:00 pm

As many have seen of late, we have been making some incredible improvements on our range for our shooter comforts, guests, scorers, RSO’s and anyone else that wants to use the range. Our goal is to be 99% done with our ‘Phase One’ project – shall we call it – by our next shoot. So our shoot will be expanded to an open house for all our shooters, family and friends to explore the range and enjoy its amenities on Saturday, April 27, 2024 starting about 8:30am, as well as shoot. This continues our philosophy of fellowship, friendship and family for all here at TRBPS.

Grills have been installed for cooking and several members have volunteered to cook for all. TRBPS supplies the food, at no cost to our attendees. We are having our trade blanket with lots of goodies every month that folks like to browse and buy from. And if you would like to, bring something for the trade blanket – for sale, trade or barter.

(DEFERRED TO MAY EVENT) — We are having a special VIP guest who will be bringing over some special firearms, and maybe some other items, for us to purchase from our growing trade blanket, and to meet us all and to see what TRBPS is all about. This is an open house to celebrate our fellowship, enjoy our improved range setup to start our shooting season. —

We will be shooting for score, but also demonstrating for our friends and family members if they would like to experience shooting our rifles. As we will most likely be going a bit longer with the food and fellowship, we will be adding a pistol match. Single shot flint or percussion.

We are having two shooting categories/classifications for our rifle match: “Offhand” – as it is known – and “Supported” for fairness. We do not want to exclude anyone who wants to shoot with us but we will not compete against centerfire or scopes to be fair. The “Supported” classification uses: bench rest, shooting sticks, kneeling, sitting, prone, et al shooting group.

There will be two shooting relays, 10 shots each, patch and roundball, any caliber in these two shooting classifications: “Offhand” and “Supported”. The classifications will not compete against each other for prizes, just bragging rights.

First Relay:
10 shots at 50 yards, steel and other targets of various sizes simple hit or miss.

Second Relay:
10 shots at 25 yards, NMLRA six bull targets, two shots each target (the top left target is for practice). Heck, may have to change this one up and go smaller.

Scores will be added together for placement within your appropriate shooting category: “Offhand” or “Supported” (bench-rest, shooting sticks etc). First shot determines your scoring category. No changing your mind after first shot. So pick either “Supported” or “Offhand”.

Our Third Relay:
Will be a pistol match independent of the rifle match. Participation is voluntary if you have a pistol and want to shoot it for score.

So, the shooting safety talk will start at 9:00am. Our goal is done by 1:00pm so we can all enjoy time with our families this weekend or maybe a nice sit-down lunch provided by TRBPS. Guests and shooters under 18 are always no charge. This is for shooters only.

So total of 20 shots for score – plus any practice shots you may want to take – patch and roundball excluding the pistol match.

MEMBERS: Remember that we will have a Trade Blanket at all monthly meets starting in 2024. Bring any items you would like to sell, trade or barter. The items can be anything – Old, New, Blades, Period Clothing, and all manner of supplies.

Guests are always welcome who just want to watch, learn and meet folks.  Bring a chair and we got two picnic tables to sit at as well.

Participation Fee: If you are …
Member of both TRBPS and PCSC: $5
Member of TRBPS and not PCSC: $10
Member of PCSC and not TRBPS: $15
Member of neither: $20
