TRBPS Event for September 2022 – Squirrels and Pigeons
by Chris Greene
Apparently, the Talking Rock Georgia weather fairies get their pre-Fall climate ideas from Heaven. Or is it the other way around? Because that was the feel during the September 2022 meet of the Talking Rock Black Powder Shooters – all concurred. It could not have been a better day if we had ordered up detailed specifications ourselves. We all knew collectively this was going to turn out to be a great shoot – and it did – and should come as no wonder really when you understand that Georgia is still God’s Utopia.
As we approach hunting season, we prepare with more challenging targets to fine-tune our eagle-eyes for the season. As you can see from the first two pictures, the trials and dares were 4″ clay pigeons at 50 yards, and a 0.5″ bulls (1.5″ overall when you include the #8 and #9 rings) at 25 yards for the Squirrel targets.
The scoring for the Squirrel targets at 25 yards: 10 point bulls; 9 points #9 ring; 8 points #8 ring; 5 points if you hit the gray of the squirrel.
The scoring for the 4″ Pigeons strung up at 50 yards: 10 points for each busted clay.
We’d like to thank Deercreek Gun Shop for their sponsorship with the two gift certificates handed out to our 1st place winners today.

Click the image below to read the article in .pdf format.
From here we will let the following visuals speak for the activities, gear, clutches, fuss and controlled mayhem that each black powder shooting event brings.
Be sure to join us Saturday October 22nd and the 3rd Saturday in November, the 19th for the remaining two meets of 2022. Check our website frequently. Enjoy the video.
Now that is a writeup and heck of a video…..
